UniKDS – Kitchen Display System
Every kitchen order on one screen. It works with the Uniwell POS you already have, and you own it outright.
No menu to rebuild. No integration. No monthly fee. The screen is added to your POS exactly as a kitchen printer is, and once the license is activated it keeps working whether or not the internet is up.
Talk to your Uniwell Distributor about a demonstration.
UniKDS replaces the kitchen printer with a screen. Your POS sends its kitchen dockets exactly as it does today, so there is no product file to export and no menu to re-enter. An order appears on the screen as quickly as it would have printed.
It is built for Uniwell systems — the HX series, the AX series and APOS-MGP.
Installing it is the same job as adding another printer:
-
Install the app on a tablet and enter your license key.
-
The screen shows its address on your network.
-
In your POS, add that address as a network printer.
-
Route your kitchen categories to it, exactly as you route them to a printer today.
Nothing is installed on the POS, and no other settings change. There is no cabling to run beyond power, and no server to install anywhere in the venue. The change is reversible — you can keep a printer running alongside the screen for as long as you want one.
What you need: an Android tablet or commercial panel, bought wherever you like; the screen and the POS on the same network, by Wi-Fi or Ethernet; and one license for each screen. There is no limit on how many screens a venue can run.
The internet is needed once, to activate the license. After that it is worth having but never required — it delivers app updates, lets your Distributor help remotely, and keeps your screens in step with each other.
How the POS, the network and the screen fit together
The screen joins your network the way a kitchen printer does, and your POS routes to it the same way. Nothing is installed on the POS, and no settings change beyond adding that printer. If your POS can print to the kitchen, it can drive this screen.
One order, at a glance
Order number, customer name, order type and table number, exactly as the docket carried them. Additions and removals are colored so they cannot be missed, and a cooking instruction handwritten at the terminal arrives as the handwriting itself. Staff can flag an order to jump the queue.
Nothing waits without being noticed
Every order carries a live timer, and the card changes colour as it waits — green, then amber, then red. You choose the two thresholds. The oldest order is the reddest, and it is always the one nearest the left.
How many of each, right now
One tap totals every outstanding item across the whole board. Four regular cappuccinos, two large, one macchiato — the question a barista actually asks, answered without reading nine cards.
Work an order the way your kitchen works
Bump with one tap, or step through accept, prepare and ready — whichever suits your kitchen. Tap an item as it is made to strike it off, so a long order stays readable and nothing is made twice.
Recall an order without reprinting
Recall a completed or rejected order by number, straight from the screen, without going back to the POS to reprint. Rejecting, voiding or refunding asks for a manager PIN.
See the whole service at once
A bar along the bottom shows how many of each item are outstanding across every open order — not how many orders are on the board. It is the number a section cook actually needs.
As many screens as the venue needs
Food to the kitchen, coffee to the bar, desserts to the pass. Your POS already prints to a FOOD printer and a COFFEE printer; each screen is just another one of those, and each needs its own license. There is no limit.
Set it once for the whole venue
The all-day list, item and modifier colors, timer thresholds and the bump workflow are shared by every screen at the venue — set them once, on any screen. Each screen keeps its own display, sound and printer preferences, so a bright pass and a quiet back kitchen can be set up differently.
It does not need the internet
Orders travel from your POS to the screen across your own network. Nothing leaves the venue and nothing depends on a connection, so an internet outage changes nothing on the screen. Staff still sign in with their four to six digit PIN.
Bought once, and yours
One license per screen, owned outright — no subscription, no renewal, and nothing that stops working because a card expired. Software updates are included. If a tablet dies, the license moves to its replacement at the same venue.
